Last night the Celtic band ( Craic ) that I am a member of played at a local festival at Niigata station. It was about 35 deg but the free drink tickets from the organizers helped the problem. We played a one hour set plus an encore. I play the jaw harp and my stepdaughter Lisa does traditional tap dancing. Looking forward to our next live gig.
Down on the Farm : As we recently harvested all the potatoes from the Albannach farm it was time to prepare the ground for new vege. 1st job was to rotary hoe the ground then we watered it and compressed it with the tracked mini loader . After that we spread two different types of fertilizer all over it and finally covered it with garden plastic , in a months time the plastic will come off and it will be ready for some new vege. I would like to say a big thanks to Abe san and Nakamura san for all their help this morning. Show less The return of black Isle - for a month or so Black Isle was so popular only their heavier dark beers were available in Japan , but great news for Black Isle fans we now have our popular Scottish craft beer back on tap. First on tap is their Goldeneye pale Ale 5.6% which is one of my favorite summer beers , here is what the team at Black Isle brewery have top say about it
A true pale ale. The full body and rich gold colour comes from a blend of wheat, pale ale and crystal malts. It’s floral and lime citrus nose is created by the extensive use of carefully selected New World aroma hops. The final stage of dry hopping then produces a rich berry flavour for a big refreshing, satisfying brew. Winner in the 2012 Soil Association Organic Food Awards. Lots of great live music this month at Albannach - a Celtic session, Brazilian Choro , Jazz live and a fantastic hammered dulcimer and guitar duo touring from Hokkaido !
